LIFE SERIAL

dated : 21-dec-1999

Although dance has been the most commonly practiced and hence perfected form of pastime and art over the ages, I believe dance-floor is one place where I am my own true self. Dancing like it was the last day before doom, from dusk to dawn, has been amongst the most cherishing experiences in my life. What really turns me on is the wild, incoherent, loud, profane music and the way everybody else dances like they were alone in their bathroom showers. I, for one dance like I were in a football stadium all to myself with nobody to obstruct my complicated steps. I need lots of free space around me and I make sure I get that space at the cost of injuring several people around me until they dread coming into my vicinity. This dramatically deteriorates my chances of finding a dance partner but dancing for the joy of it and not to synchronize with the partner is one thing I really appreciate and savor to extents. If you believe that I'm not glorifying things, I just want to proclaim that dance is the true form of bliss and the only avenue for emancipation of one's soul from his otherwise tainted body. And I dance like nobody is watching me, dance like the whole world is my podium. I'm no spokesperson for a beat-up downtown dance-floor but an advocate of salvation and nirvana. On a more practical note, dance also keeps your body fit, what with all the intricate and wild dance movements. Leave aside dignity and genteel upbringing and boom.. you have a zillion forms of dance: snake dance, peacock dance and the utterly shaky rock & roll of the '50s being some of the most popular ones. And I dance like it's the sole purpose of my life. Well I have a billion thoughts to express about my fascination but I'll let you go right here. Please acknowledge this mail if you are a hardcore dance-fanatic. Happy dancing. Dance like nobody is watching.
