It was our 5th anniversary yesterday and I have been pestering my wife for weeks about how she could get me a surprise puppy gift from Lab Pups.

We stayed home and relaxed most of the day and I had a couple day-dreams about how the puppies (one black lab and one yellow lab) came running into the house from a UPS van

When I woke up at 7pm though there were no puppies:( We decided to go for a short walk and we did not even walk 200 feet or so and Maanasa’s attention went to a miniature Beagle puppy running all over the neighborhood. Being the animal-loving family we were, we decided to take the puppy into the house. One thing led to another and lets just say that I slept less than 2 hours mostly because the puppy wouldn’t let me get out of her sight even for a minute, and partly because I was too pumped up with excitement.

The moral of the story - serendipity is for real! I think this is one of the creepiest coincidences I ever had. I have one more but that’s a story for another time.

My big boss mentioned during the first meeting of the morning that she did not get enough sleep last night and she started to talk about a drug that would help people think clearly even when they do not get enough sleep the previous night.

My immediate response - “Is the drug called POT?”

She and the others in the room laughed so hard and made so many other smart-a** comments that I felt obliged to post this on the blog.

It never hurts to make the bosses laugh, right?
